Last week’s Thursday Brunch on #DubaiToday saw Suzanne Radford broadcasting live from the delicate and exquisite culinary palette of Michelin- starred Chef Heinz Beck´s casual dining gourmet restaurant, Taste of Italy. Head Chef Andrea Tarini did a cookery demonstration, presenting Italian classics
infused with Heinz Beck´s signature Michelin- star twist. Of course, with Valentine’s Day around the corner, the theme was none other than the aptly titled, “love food,” which explored the most romantic meals that are sure to find its way to your heart.
Chef Andrea was joined by Chef Dima Al Sharif as well as “UAE Honey Man” and founder of Balqees Honey, Riath Hamid. During the live cooking segment, Chef Andrea delighted guests by preparing Taste of Italy’s poignant signature dish, the Tortelli di Melanzane, made with Pomodoro (tomato salsa) and olio al basilica (basil oil). In addition, he explained the cooking process and showcased how pasta was made by hand.
Amongst other dishes, the acclaimed chef dished up a delectable Beef tartar starter called Tartare di manzo, pesto di pistacchio e pomodori secchi (Chopped fillet of beef, pistachio pesto, and sundried tomatoes), alongside a mouthwatering main course of Pizza Bietola, gamberi e stracciatella (Pizza with chard, shrimp and stracciatella) that is sculpted from white-base pizza and contains 3 different types of flour inside the dough. In addition, the pizza is baked in Taste of Italy’s wood-fired stone oven.
In typical anticipation of saving the best for last, the show concluded with one of its best-selling desserts, the Deconstructed Tiramisu. Created by Heinz Beck’s team in Italy, this signature dessert’s unique presentation added a flavorful flair to an award-winning menu.
